At The Club, we have an amazing opportunity to host a rotating art exhibition that showcases the work of artists that are affiliated with Ohio State. The current artist on display, Paul-Henri Bourguignon, is a native of Belgium who moved to the United States in 1949 to follow his soon to be wife, Erika, who had just accepted a position at The Ohio State University. Bourguignon started painting early in his life and used his artwork to document all of the extensive traveling he did including visits to Africa and Europe.
On Friday, May 2nd, The Club hosted an art opening reception that was met with great enthusiasm. Hors d’oeuvres were served while club members, the campus community and local artists took time to view Bourguignon’s “Portraits of the World” exhibit and reflect on his life and stories he told of his travels. Bourguignon passed away in 1988 but his wife, Dr. Erika Bourguignon, attended the event in his honor. The current exhibit on display showcases 26 pieces of Bourguignon’s work and is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm. All of the featured pieces are available for purchase. The exhibit will be on display until June 20th, so be sure to stop by before its gone!
Our next exhibit will be featuring the artwork of Marcus Brewer. The art opening reception for the new exhibit will be taking place during the evening of Friday, June 27th, so mark your calenders! Attendees have the opportunity to view the exhibit and have one-on-one discussions with the artist. Both club members and non-members are welcome to attend our art opening receptions.
