Change is something that is inevitable for all businesses. Whether it is a new product, or a new branch of the company, or new people, it is important for a business to experience change to be able to serve their customers better. Here at The Faculty Club, we are in the middle of a big change ourselves. Join us in welcoming Stephanie Jones as our new Office Manager, congratulating Diana Biasella for her recent promotion to the Director of Catering, and wishing all the luck to Barbara Markowitz with her retirement.
Stephanie V Jones joined us in September as the new Business Office Manager. She is OSU Alumni and a Certified Public Accountant. She has nearly 20 years of Accounting experience within Corporations, Small Businesses and Not-For-Profits. She is very enthusiastic to be back on campus and part of The Faculty Club team. She also loves to meet the members, so when you have a chance, stop by the office and introduce yourself! Stephanie resides with her husband, Jesse, and two children, Bella and Quinn, in Pickerington. In her spare time, she’s a personal trainer at her local YMCA. She enjoys many athletics programs with her children, and the whole family enjoys the outdoors.
As a graduate with honors from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management and a Business Minor, Diana joined the Faculty Club Catering team in May 2013 as Catering and Member Service Specialist. She has recently been promoted to the Director of Catering role and is thrilled to fulfill her new position. Diana has gained her hospitality work experience through her time spent with the Walt Disney World Company, Blackwell Inn and The Ohio Union. Aside from her hospitality career, Diana recently received her 200 Power Yoga Instructor Certification and enjoys practicing and teaching yoga with GoYoga. Originally from Canton, Ohio, Diana enjoys visiting her family back home and spending time with friends. She is a Buckeye at heart and is excited to continue her professional career with The OSU Faculty Club.
Barbara Markowitz found her position as Business Office Manager in May 1995 about five months after she moved to Columbus from Cleveland to be closer to her significant other, Harry Farkas. She has enjoyed participating in many positive changes at The Club and has watched many co-workers move on to different places and positions; and never imagined she would be the one to leave until these last few years. Barbara has always been interested in Yoga, Pilates and other New Age activities; so about six years ago she began her training as a mat Pilates instructor and 18 months ago has extended her practice to include Komyo Reiki Kai. For the past four years she has held small personalized mat classes in the evenings and on the weekends at her home studio. With retirement, Barbara hopes to take on more clients to pass on her passion for these modalities.
Next time you are in The Club, stop by personally and congratulate these ladies on their achievements! We are very excited for the future of The Faculty Club, and cannot wait for you all to be a part of that!
