As F. Scott Fitzgerald once said “Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” Here at the The Club, Autumn is one of our busiest times of the year and everything is beginning again. Students and Faculty go back to class and return for lunch services, our beloved Buckeyes hit the field once again and our home game tailgates resume, and finally, our wonderful members begin to plan for their Holiday dinners and celebrations they’ll be holding here with us. So Mr. Fitzgerald was right. It may be the end of the year, but everything seems to begin again.
Another thing that has begun is our new Fall Seasonal Catering Menu. With options such as Butternut & Sage Arancini (V), Pumpkin Beignets (V), Toasted Cheese Tortellini with Braised Beef Rillette, and Gingersnap Cookie Crusted Pumpkin Panna Cotta, the flavors of fall just call out to you and make your mouth water.
Some of our personal favorite additions to our menu are our new Interactive Hot Chocolate and Hot Apple Cider Stations. The Hot Apple Cider Bar is served with Caramel Squares, Apple Slices, Cinnamon Sticks, Whipped Cream, and you can even add on Cinnamon Donut Holes. That all just screams warm and yummy. If Cider isn’t your thing or if you’re looking for something a little more rich, try the Hot Chocolate Bar which is served with assorted White, Dark, and Milk Chocolate Squares, Cinnamon Sticks, Peppermint Sticks, and Whipped Cream.
Hot and delicious drinks are one of our favorite parts of fall, so we thought we’d share a couple of other ideas with you for some tasty treats, sure to warm you up! First off, we have Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate (pictured below on the left). This recipe comes to us from drinkedin.net. It’s completely made from scratch, but the sweet and salty drink topped with gooey salted caramel drizzle is surely worth the work. Our second choice is Hot Buttered Rum from babble.com (pictured below on the right). Again, this takes some time. It’s easy to make, you just have to let the spiced butter chill and do it’s buttery magic before you put it together. Add a little Spiced Rum at the end and you have yourself a seasonally traditional autumn drink you are sure to enjoy.
For those who are not of fan of hot drinks, we’ve got a few cold ones here sure to satisfy any fall craving. First up we have a Pumpkin Coffee Milkshake (below left) from seriouseats.com. Can you say “yum?” Coffee, Milk, Pumpkin, Brown Sugar, Cinnamon, and Cloves come together to make this shake flavorful, but not too rich like a regular milkshake. Best part is, it can be made in about 10-15 minutes! Next up we have another cocktail, because even though it’s iced, a cocktail has a way of warming you up! This Apple, Ginger, and Cranberry Cocktail (below right) is from whatkatieate.com. A little apple juice, cranberry juice, ginger ale, and vodka make this drink quick and easy, yet crisp and refreshing.
Whether you’re here at The Club enjoying a nice Hot Chocolate, or at home sipping a fall-inspired cocktail, make sure you enjoy this beautiful season we have. It’s full of great flavors and great possibilities, as it’s all just beginning. We hope you enjoy these recipes!
